The managing committee has been in office for the last 12 years and cooperates well. All work is done on a voluntary basis, even compensation of expenses is seldom claimed. The association has 45 members, all living in or near Barnstorf and Diepholz, Germany. Members participate in the activities of the association according to their individual capacities.
LHL is member of the "Working Group Oil Project Chad -Cameroon", as Benoye borders the oil area and an dis directly concerned by the consequences of extraction.
LHL cooperates with several organizations, e.g. the German Volunteer Service (DED) and the local Agenda-21-promotion-association. The president of LHL, Jürgen Marquardt, coordinates the solar cooker promotion activities of the working group Papitchad.
