Activities in Ghana

Priscilla now runs successfully her own tailing workshop She has payed the whole of her loan.

Several projects were executed together with a Ghanaian association of the same name (LHL).  Various projects like the construction of a small biogas plant and the breeding of tilapia fish in a pond were not successful, while the production of roof tiles gave moderate results. But  cooperation has since subsided.

Later, our managing committee member Dr. John Owusu-Afram established new contacts in Ghana. In this phase we helped some health centres and dispensaries with medicines. Repair of pumps for drinking water supply was also realized, and a scholarship fund for girls has been set up. Since 2001, we resumed the promotion of local craftsmen and women by putting credit facilities at their disposal.  Thus a tailoress has been able to set her own entrerprise.
